Chocolate Chip Cookie Cheesecake

My boyfriend's brother's birthday was today. Since today is also National Talk Like a Pirate Day, his wife threw a pirate birthday party for him last Saturday. I decided to bring Chocolate Chip Cookie Cheesecake. I know, it has nothing to do with pirates, but it was delicious!!! I got the recipe from pinterest of course. Ive seen similar recipes from lots of sites but I used this one. Don't know where it originally came from but I do not have to motivation to do the research right now.
  • 3 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 (16.5-ounce) rolls refrigerator chocolate chip cookie dough
What To Do:
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a large bowl, beat together cream cheese, eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract until well mixed; set aside.
  • Slice cookie dough rolls into 1/4-inch slices.
  • Arrange slices from one roll on bottom of a greased 9- x 13-inch glass baking dish; press together so there are no holes in dough.
  • Spoon cream cheese mixture evenly over dough; top with remaining slices of cookie dough.
  • Bake 45 to 50 minutes, or until golden and center is slightly firm.
  • Remove from oven, let cool, then refrigerate. Cut into slices when well chilled.

Norm's uncle said it was the best cheesecake he's ever had and his aunt and mother asked me for the recipe. Cheesecake success!!

Super Mario Baby Shower Invitations

So this blog is a sort of extension of my pinterest. Since I have become obsessed with pinterest and have so much crap on there that it is near impossible to navigate through my pins, I wanted a way to go back and look at what I actually have done and want to do again. My current project I am working on is throwing a baby shower on October 6th. My brother's wife is pregnant again, but this time with the first boy on both sides of the family. I threw a baby shower 6ish years ago when she was pregnant with Emma. I decided this time to throw the baby shower for Kris instead of Becky since its a boy. What does Kris enjoy? Video games. (As does the oldest girl, Natalie. Its a family thing.) So, whats cuter than some baby Mario and Yoshi stuff? The only thing I've actually accomplished so far is the invitations. (well, I've also reserved the picnic tables at the park and brainstormed a ton of ideas.)

Mario Baby Shower Invitation

Super cute, right? I made it in paint. Copied the pictures from a google search. Downloaded a mario font. Actually 2 fonts. One was all black and one was a black outline and white inside that I colored in myself in paint. Printed it out on some card stock and mailed them off. Easy. Well, getting my printer to work after not using it for 2 years and getting the addresses for the guest list from  my brother and his wife, not easy. But I managed.

The fonts were downloaded from urbanfont.com and dafont.com

I have TONS of ideas for food and decorations so I will post more as I go and create a complete blog when I'm done.
